Politico Steve Bachar to work on socially responsible investing

New Moye White partner, Steve Bachar, was featured on the Denver Post blog, “The Spot for Politics and Policy” April 21:

Denver lawyer and political heavy-hitter Steve Bachar, a former White House staffer and co-chairman of the Clinton Global Initiative America, has taken his talents to Denver law firm Moye White’s business group that works in socially responsible investments.

Bachar joins the firm as a partner.

“As one of Colorado’s preeminent public policy attorneys and a respected adviser to businesses, nonprofits, and government and political leaders, Steve’s capabilities dovetail perfectly with the needs of our Colorado and national business clients,” Moye White managing partner Tom List said in a statement.

It’s referred to as impact investing and it guides individuals and companies that want to put their money into socially responsible endeavors that help society or the environment while producing a financial return. List said Bachar will join a team that includes partner Ted White, as well as Dominick Sekich and Trish Rogers.

The work isn’t new to Bachar, who co-founded Empowerment Capital Management, providing advisement on socially responsible investing. He has served on the Global Advisory Council of New York-based Cornerstone Capital Group, working in sustainable investing and finance. He also has been a board member of Windhorse Inc., which has a for-profit company that provides clean drinking water to 200,000 customers in rural eastern India.
