Colorado employers can no longer impose a “use it or lose it” vacation policy.

If an employee leaves a company before taking earned vacation, he or she must be paid for those hours.

And now, under the Colorado Wage and Protection Act of 2014, which went into effect in January, the state Division of Labor, part of the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment, has tools to enforce that rule…
